The Don'ts to do this season

When it comes to colors and shapes, multiple misconceptions about fashion make us avoid matching certain items or even owning them in our wardrobe.
This season, it's all about taking risks, being playful, bold and challenge those who've being saying that "we coudn't" while we can and we will.
Here's our list of the don'ts that aren't a fashion-faux-pas this season.

1. Matching Black with navy-blue:

Black has been our best friend for centuries, we could wear it in all occasions and even at our own wedding. It goes with almost everything and we could never get enough of it.
Navy blue is a nice compromise if you're a black-kinda-gal and you wanted to surprise a candid by wearing color. (oh-yes! Navy is a color! a dark one obviosly, but still! I made progress and you should all applaud the initiative! )
Black and Navy are great seperately, but together? Most people would say "naaaaaah!!". But we are not most people! We're showing some personality by making the impossible possible!
We tend to think that Navy-blue will look sad and cheap next to black but the truth is, everything could look cheap next to something that actually isn't. So if you are taking a risk  matching those dark colors together, you should absolutely give some attention to the fabric, the fit, the shape and the texture. In stead of cotton, you may pick a cachemere black top with a sheen navy pants. Nobody would tell you "you're a fashion desaster" if you're looking fancy and put together, So get your self some nice tailored items and let's go rogue ladies!!!

2. Mix bright colors together:

We never thought this day will come but you guys should know that today, you could wear fuschia and orange on a same outfit and everybody is going to think you're a genius.
you could wear bright blue with orange, you could even wear Blue with green and nobody would tell you "you look like a clown".
Do we feel you hesitating in there? well don't worry! if Victoria Beckham did it, we believe you can to!

 3. Wear over sized items from head to toe:

Who said comfortable and fashion don't go together ? well, if you still think so, think again!
For years, we've been told, "if you're wearing an oversized piece on top, make sure your bottom is fit and tight!", "if you're wearing baggy-pants, you're wearing tight top! we don't care if you're not confortable showing your curves up there, or down there, or allover! you should and you will!"
This season, flowy is the new gorgeous and you my dear will sink in soft, fluffy, flexile fabric, you will look trendy and you will feel free to jump and dance and do all crazy stuff because this year, you're breaking every rule there is.

4. Rocking Grandma-mid-length-pleated skirt:

The pleated skirt made its huge comeback this season! it comes in all colors and we're even trying them out in metallic and gold! In 2017, There's no taboo in looking relax and hobo. And by the way, you won't have to gross legs when wearing this kind of skirt! it'll have your back! (or probably something else), you'll even be able to ride a bike with that thing! isn't it awesome?

5. Wear Animal prints:

If you're going wild this season, make sure it comes in little touches and not become a jungle-misrepresentation.

How to Upgrade your basics for 2017

The Less-is-more rule encourages designers to not only look for new ideas and push the shapes and styles further but to also revisite what we know best in fashion: THE BASICS.

1. THE SHIRT:

A black shirt, a white shirt, a grey shirt, they all sound so boring in 2017. So it's been decided that Rock and Corky are back. it seems that designer are getting quite nostalgic about their childhood. The white shirt of today is an embelished-Disney-like one .

The black shirt of tomorrow is the one we wore in the seventies. does "guns-and-roses" ring a bell?

2. The SHIRT:

This year is all about embelishments. the flowers are back with the fluffiness and the puffiness and the cute details on the bottons and the collar.

Fitted shirts are also OVER. This year, we want them Foxy, we want them Boxy and we want them now!
Hey Dad! do you have a boxy shirt to lend me? i'm going out!

3. THE PANTS

We can all say goodbye to our extra slim extra stretchy extra low-waisted bottoms! this year is all about comfort! mom jeans, baggy jeans, jogging-pants, flare-pants, cropped pants, culottes. they've noticed we've suffered enough!

4. THE TRENCH COAT:

the Burburry traditional kamel trench coat is not the trendiest piece you have in your wardrobe. it's been decided that unless it's long, lean, oversized and pink, you are  sooo behind on your fashion-homework.

5. The Biker jacket:

you may take a seat for this one darling... black was so overrated for so many years that designers decided they're going to cut the cord for now. biker jackets should be glittery gold, metallic, pink, blue, brown. As long as it's  black, and you're not called Gigi Hadid, you will be on fashion police tonight!

6. THE PENCIL SKIRT:
pencil skirt no more! the new pencil skirt is the accordeon mid-length skirt. if you already tried it and you look like a sac of potatoe, don't be sad, just put that Michael Jackson song "you are not alone, i'm here with you" and wait until the trend goes off. i'll be praying for it on my side of the world. (sob)

7. THE LITLLE BLACK DRESS:
The black dress isn't that little anymore, it has to be extra long and so oversized that you could make love under it with your boyfriend. Talking about confortable...

How to Rock a head-to-Toe monocolor look

A head-to-toe look is all women go-to-look when we lack inspiration.
It looks easy and efficient but it could also lack sophistication and look dull .
These are some hacks to bring it to a whole new level and still look effortless.

1. Chose quality items for your monochrome's look:

Black on Black could look cheap if the fabric isn't right, if it looks old or if it doesn't fit perfectly.
Let's face it, we all have that black denim pants that we wore so much it doesn't look as black as it used to be. So the first think to do is to have some tailored pieces with the same black tones to it.

When we're going for the all-in-white look, opaque Items look fancier that the transparent see-through pieces. Because Nobody wants to see  our little panties at work (or if we're wearing any), we will make sure our white pants are thick and smooth and our white shirt hugs our body perfectly.

2. Chose different fabrics on your look:

A head-to-toe look can be playful and fun if we don't stick to the same conventional materials, so we can pick a vinyl A-line skirt instead of an ordinary cotton one or we can switch our t-shirt with a lace top and a nice pair of slippers.
The idea is to get at least one unique item to make the outfit look chic and well-thought.

3. Wear colors:
Do not be afraid to wear colors on a monocolor look. It's bold, edgy and it shows how strong and empowered you feel.

4. play with the shapes

An outfit that would look good on you is an outfit that fits your body shape. so get backless, Asymetric, fluffy, oversized, A-lined, Straight-lined items as long as they fit you and rock that head to toe look like a star.

how to add color into your minimalist wardrobe (Capsule Collection)

Once we have our basics put together, it's time to peps them up with some investment pieces.

a minimalist wardrobe can look quite boring for people who like colors, texture and rainbows.
these are simple steps to work with a colorful minimalist collection.

STEP 1. USE ACCESSORIES:

if you are more of a neutral/monochrome kind of person,  you'd find it risky to purchase colors or hard to match them together.

the easiest way to incorporate colors into your look is accessories.
it could be a necklace, shoes, a  purse, a nice colorful watch. It will not only enhance your basic outfit, it will also put the focus on that central colorful piece you've chosen to express yourself.
As we already said, you can't go wrong with a  minimalist outfit.

Our advice would be to add one color at a time if you're not familiar with wearing them.
for the ones who are used to matching colors, we say UNLEASH THE BEAST!
It would be preferable to stick with 3 to 4 colors in one outfit so it doesn't go clownish.

STEP 2. INVEST IN A COLORFUL STATEMENT PIECE:

Statement pieces are great as they serve as guideline for your color palette each season.
it could be a coat, some quality pants, a jacket, or even a nice botonned down shirt.
if you stick to your minimalist neutral wardrobe, your statement piece will go with each item you have in your dressing room. (we love the pink on that Kendall jacket)=>

However if you wish to incorporate color with the statement piece, make sure it's one of the colors of the statement piece.
let's imagine you chose this Olivia Palermo Coat.you can match it with any shade of green or yellow item and you'd be good to go.

STEP 3: DO CAMAIEU OUTFITS

The best thing about Camaieu is that you get to enjoy you favorite color in every shade possible.
People who like the head-to-toe monochromic looks would love the camaieu's outfits.
You get to pic a color that you'd like to wear this season, you can also get inspiration from your colorful statement piece so you can mix your items with what you already have.
let's say for this season, we're going to go for pink. we'd match a baby pink top with fuschia pants, lavender sneakers and that devine kendall jenner jacket and we will be ready to hang out with the girls.

STEP 4. STICK TO THE 3 COLOR-RULE:

We believe there's two golden rules you can't mess with if you want to look put together. first of all, be your self, look for the items that fit you, make you feel comfortable in your own skin and most of all, make sure it expresses your personality.
The second rule would be "less is more". It's obviously very tempting to celebrate joyful good-hair days with a mishmash of colors but let's be serious for a second. No body wants to look like he's going to a carnaval when going to work or out to dinner. So make sure you're wearing no more than three colors per outfit and if you have a huge crash on that multicolor purse you just bought as your statement piece, you're allowed to make a small acception.

STEP 5. HAVE FUN WITH IT:
If you incorporate some bold accessories, a glittery purse, a colorful coat and one camaieu look into your basic-timelessly gorgeous wardrobe, you'll end up with a capsule collection. everything you own will match and every day, you'll be full of excitement to put that skirt with that top and look awesome.
